Mindful Life Project

The Mindful Life project is a non-profit organization focused on transforming schools from the inside out with practical and comprehensive social-emotional learning programming. In short, they help students understand what they are feeling, how that can affect their own actions, and ways to recognize and manage these feelings through mindfulness.

The original logo was originated from the students themselves, featuring a playful typeface with drawn hands setting a dove free. Our job was to maintain the essence of this logo and the integrity of the students concept, while elevating the logo for usage in corporate spaces. We ended with a clean easy to use logo mark that still captures hope and freedom the students cleverly captured in the original logo. Next we created a visual identity that was both empathetic and functional. We used relevant, kid-friendly creative elements to provide a visual language for students to identify with, contributing to their mindfulness practices. This was achieved through colorful paint strokes, water color marks, calm colors, and friendly type. These elements were used in a variety of ways that span from the emotion character crew to silhouette compositions with unique, creative auras.
